Loyalists or Tories
Loyalists were people that were still loyal to the British Empire and the British way of life during the American Revolution. War forced the American to choose sides which many chose to fight off. Many of them questioned whether or not to join the rebels or stay loyal to the king. Colonists that recently arrived in America were tied up between picking sides. Even thought many Patriots were gaining rebels, still about fifty-five percent of the white population in America support the king still.
